Highland VAWG Services

There are a number of local and national services which can support women and men who have been affected by abuse as adults and/or as children. Our support services guide, included in the library below, lists the agencies individuals can contact directly and who staff can refer people they are working with too. National helplines are also included within the guide.

We have also developed a resource to support individuals who are experiencing domestic abuse to identify what is happening to them and this includes information about services and some initial safety planning advice. The leaflet is included in the library below.  Hard copies (as well as the Polish and Russian electronic versions) are available from the Health Information and Resources Library in NHS Highland.

Rape Crisis Scotland have also developed useful guides for survivors to help understand and maybe even manage some of the consequences of experiencing abuse. These include issues such as anger, self harm, trauma, and dissociation. All are available on the publications section of the Rape Crisis Scotland website.
